While performing Phlebotomy (Blood Collection) procedures it is importance that you use on 70% Isopropyl Alcohol swab as guided by CLSI / NABL guidelines.
We have individually packed alcohol prep pads with appropriate amount of spirit, to give a adequate swab for cleaning the collection area without leaving any excess trace of spirit.
NOTE: any residual or excess spirit can contaminate your blood sample and cause Hemolysis along with compromising many other test results. These errors are also part of Preanalytical errors.
